The President of the Hellenic Cypriot Cultural Association (HCCA), Mrs. Sissy Sigioultzi-Rouka, met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus, Mrs. Theodora Konstantinidou, Head of the Service for Expatriate and Repatriate Cypriots, during her visit to Nicosia.
During the meeting, HCCA’s initiatives aimed at preserving and promoting the cultural and linguistic heritage of Cypriot Hellenism in the diaspora were presented. Proposals for collaboration on high-value cultural and social projects were discussed, with a focus on intercultural events, international competitions, and educational programs for the youth of the diaspora.
Particular attention was given to HCCA’s intercultural musical and narrative performances, such as “Routes to the Sea” and “Greece-Cyprus: Routes to the West,” which combine music, poetry, and video projections to offer a multi-sensory exploration of roots and cultural identity. The possibility of organizing the innovative “Express & Impress” competition was also explored, alongside the development of educational programs designed to enhance Greek language skills and strengthen the cultural identity of young people in the diaspora.
The Ambassador expressed her appreciation for HCCA’s work, acknowledging its significant contribution to strengthening the ties of Cypriot Hellenism in the diaspora with Cyprus and Greece. The meeting, held in a spirit of creative collaboration, reaffirmed the commitment of both parties to develop joint initiatives that enhance cultural diplomacy and the international networking of the Cypriot diaspora.
Mrs. Sigioultzi-Rouka warmly thanked Ambassador Konstantinidou for her gracious hospitality and support, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in promoting the cultural and spiritual richness of Cypriot Hellenism on a global scale.
