Culture is our vision, our path

The Hellenic Cypriot Cultural Association is a non-profit civil law company based in Thessaloniki, founded to strengthen and promote Hellenism, to unite Greeks, Cypriot creators, artists and scientists of all ages through projects of culture, education, humanism, science, with respect to man, nature and the environment, with international actions and missions for the benefit of society. To strengthen the Greek language, to support philanthropy, to record and preserve tradition, folklore and customs, to preserve handicrafts (embroidery, etc.) and the arts of our heritage, to support fair play through poetry, literature and art competitions, to offer creative, cultural incentives to young people, to create a cradle of cultural exchange, to record and honor important people from Greece, Cyprus and the Hellenic World, who through their lives and work are shining examples of humanism, and in general to do anything that is beneficial to the promotion of Hellenic, Greek Cypriot culture.

Its vision is to bring out the unified Hellenic Culture (Letters, Arts, Language, Tradition, History etc.) to all Greeks, Cypriots, Hellenes Abroad, Philhellenes, inviting them to participate in its enrichment and transmission in the EU, internationally, and to develop spiritually.

It was founded to support and promote widely the literary and artistic creation in Greece, Cyprus and the Greek Community, as well as the related sciences (Greek Language, Intangible Heritage, History, Environment, Health, Tourism, Monuments, Sociology, Philosophy, etc.), thus affirming the universality of Greek Culture and its beneficial universal ideals.

For this purpose, it sets up a Mission with action plans, programs, committees and modern means (cultural-association.org, Web RadioTV “SOLOMOS”, Digital Reading Club of the D.A.D.A. etc.) involving members of the HCCA, scientists, people of speech and art, and consultants in about 30 countries. The mission of the Hellenic Cypriot Cultural Association is to create exemplary “Cultural Identity” for self-awareness and cultural development of Greeks, Cypriots and Hellenes Abroad. For this purpose, it is constantly building new sustainable, functional and effective infrastructure, linkages, projects, programs and international relations to achieve the vision in all fields. The objectives of the HCCA are multiple and constantly enriched, such as, among others, the strengthening and safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage and Cultural Diplomacy for the “export” to foreign countries of works of art and translated literary and scientific works.

The noble aim of the HCCA parallel to networking is to unite Greek-speaking writers, artists and scientists everywhere towards common goals, with its modern means as well as with classical ways, such as Road Shows for recording micro-histories (memories – recollections – customs – traditions), Publications for Anthologies, Literary Series, Periodicals / Digital Publications, Contests (Literary and Art, “Express and Impress”), Awards (Literary – Humanism – Science Award, Young Innovative Scientists Award, “Cities of Culture” Award), Studies, Exhibitions, Conferences, Festivals, Digital Reading Room, Autobiographical Portraits, Radio Interviews (Digital Radio SOLOMOS Web Radio TV with Greek music, songs of the world, recitations, narratives, proverbs, tributes etc), events, educational programs, “A Writer in my Classroom”, “Cultural Panorama”, Musical Performances, Sponsors Gifts Gallery with handicrafts and artworks and several other international programs etc. Specifically, HCCA strives with modern digital tools to produce work with high sensitivity towards the protection of the Planet – Nature and Vulnerable Social Groups by offering free eBook, Audiobook publications, as well as various training programs.

The Hellenic Cypriot Cultural Association HCCA is constantly growing and improving, through an intense cultural activity. Its aim is the preservation and enlightenment of the common Hellenic Culture of Greece and Cyprus, its values and the people who serve it, with activities such as training, education of young people, cultivation of the spirit and soul of adults, promotion of the Greek Language, works of writers and artists, preservation of the folklore, of customs and traditions, etc.
The literary, artistic, educational, informative and scientific activities of HCCA are manifested in various forms, such as symposia, conferences, workshops, seminars, book and album publications and their presentations, performances, concerts, awards for literary personalities and innovative young scientists, translations of their works and those of distinguished foreign writers, interviews about their life and work, competitions between young authors.

To achieve its objectives, the Hellenic Cypriot Cultural Association activates several means and tools, such as a digital reading club, digital publications, digital productions, visualizations, a digital encyclopedia, a digital broadcasting station, etc. In addition, it invites its member Consultants from Greece, Cyprus and dozens of countries – in the Diaspora and internationally – to participate in a series of action plans for projects, events and programs with a literary, artistic and scientific focus.

The aim of the activities of the Hellenic Cypriot Cultural Association is, among other things, to record, preserve, communicate and promote culture in its many fields, but also to unite Hellenes and Philhellenes, Greek and Cypriot creators, artists and scientists everywhere, through a series of cultural projects and actions of a social, charitable, educational, informative and entertaining nature, defending and promoting universal ideals, mainly of Hellenism, the Greek Language and Tradition, Ancient Greek Culture, Letters and Arts – in Greece, Cyprus and internationally – under the vision of Cultural Diplomacy, offering our fellow human beings the opportunity – through an international Greek digital platform of letters, arts, folklore, tradition, science – to transmit knowledge, information and ‘fodder’ for research and upgrading of the intellectual level.
